We are going to make sure we stay open and help in every way we can.
Even if someone has passed away with this horrible virus we are going to be letting the bereaved families come to visit the family member they have lost, visiting will be available throughout Christmas even on Christmas day and Boxing Day we will be here.
The message from all at Meridian is to wish everyone a better year for next year and to be able to get back to a normal life.

We recently received a ‘thank you’ card which included the following sentence…

“Thank you for helping a difficult day go smoothly.”

This is one of the main things that we all want when we have to organise a funeral, to have a difficult day go smoothly.

I spoke to Carl Kenyon and asked him about the sort of problems which families can face…

“We do like things to go smoothly, but it is not always the case because of unforeseen events.

Just recently on the day before a funeral the family had to deal with isolation because of the virus, I got the call on a Sunday evening, and the funeral was taking place the next day on Monday.

The church in which the funeral was taking place did not do live stream which the family needed.

I suggested calling a different church of the same religion nearby which did live streaming so the family could see and hear the funeral mass. We contacted both church and had everything rearranged by later that evening.

We informed everyone, and things ran smoothly. It did not erase the upset the family had to deal with on top of their loss, but it did help to ease it a little.”

Meridian Funeral Home has got talent!

Many of you will have met Jacqueline Linn when you have had dealings with us at Meridian Funeral Home.

What you probably do not know is that in her spare time Jacqueline enjoys painting.

Jacqueline describes herself as a “self-taught painter” who enjoys painting many different types of subjects. Whatever and where ever she finds the inspiration.

The featured painting was inspired by the Christmas theme.

I asked Jacqueline what her own thoughts are of her painting, to which she replied, “Peaceful and calming. I hope that people are able to lose themselves in the picture and give a little Christmas comfort in these hard times.”

Sadly after a short illness, Maureen Cheston aged 83 of Brown Street Chorley passed away in the Royal Preston Hospital, on Tuesday 15th December 2020. At Meridian Funeral Home we are grateful to receive many kind messages from our customers.

Here is one sentence I have selected from one customer’s thank you card.

“Thankyou so much for your care and compassion and the wonderful service you provide.”

An Ode’ to  Carl & Brett Kenyons with our deepest gratitude

Your caring voice that answered the call,

reassuring us you’d sort it all.

These moments were the hardest to bear,

but you eased our pain with your compassion and care.

Just take a moment were here for you, we feel your pain we’re family men too.

Try to relax and clear your mind, what special memories have they left behind?

Take these gifts, and to all you can tell for your loved ones obituary in their final farewell.

You helped our decisions with your wisdom and advice.

When choosing your service we’re glad we never thought twice.

Your gentle touch as you kept her safe.

We will never forget this calm resting place.

The flowers, the cards, the dates and the time;

Not one little detail slipped through your mind.

This career of yours must come at a price

to be witness to others grief and strife.

You must be blessed with hearts of gold,

To ensure so much sadness but never seem cold.

You helped our family and these words are our thanks.

For your warmth and dignified company your top of the ranks.

So to all of you at Carl & Brett Kenyons, our sisters last protectors,

what amazing people you are, you funeral directors.
